Hey friends! Today’s the day for the gender reveal, honestly though it hasn’t been a total secret or anything, it just hasn’t come up really. Also added a mini must have clothing haul at the end because my mom has seriously hooked this baby up already in the styles department! He or She is going to be so stinking cute in their little sleepers!
GENDER REVEAL
There was a silver lining to the stress of the genetic testing that we did at 9 weeks and that was they screen for gender related chromosomal abnormalities, hence we were informed of the gender at 10 weeks! SO FREAKING EARLY! I should mention, and I feel like it goes without saying that the true benefit of the testing is not for gender but to find out if you are at an advanced risk for chromosomal abnormalities. They did not have this test available just 6 years ago when I had Wave. I really wanted to be team green so bad for at least one kid, but Chris was not for it and to be honest, with everything we have going on right now, with the house and this cross-country thing coming up for Oakley, it just seemed like more stress than it was worth, so we found out and it’s a …. BOY! Team Blue. OMG am I saying that?

Our situation has forced me to be super realistic and almost, GASP, minimalist about what I want for this baby and what I need. Soooo, the only impulse buy that I have personally made was a diaper bag, it wasn’t even one I would have picked for myself, I have one picked out that I want – and actually Chris also has one picked out that he wants, I can link both our “wants” below if you’re interested in checking those out because they are both awesome, mine true feminine and his hard core masculine. But basically, on one of the birth boards I follow, a mom had posted this super discounted amazon link to a backpack style diaper bag that was on mega, mega sale, I think it was maybe $30 normally and I got it for $10. It may not have even been that much originally, but point is for the girls I always had an extra ready to go diaper bag that stayed in my car, or at my moms, and for $10 it’s a decent neutral bag that may end up just being THE bag. We’ll see.
