Furniture redo inspiration
I saw this blog one time and it’s basically what inspired me to refinish furniture (that and a screw loose) – but anyway the girl had this Tiffany blue dresser in her room that was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. And I wanted it, for something. I didn’t know what I would do with it, where it would put it, or even why, but I just needed to make something that looked like that.
So then, I was torturing myself looking through magazines at stuff I couldn’t possibly afford and I saw this desk, which I also needed for some unknown reason.
So I think to myself, OK – I can totally kill two birds with one stone here!
My search for the perfect desk began.
This is actually a love story. About a girl and her desk. I searched craigslist for days with no avail. Then on a whim, I found project dream desk at Goodwill, one fine day – at the modest price of a whopping $40.
Not much to look at here but I saw the potential right away. I knew I was going to paint it that Tiffany blue color and put it in the girls room and it would be the pinnacle of my furniture redo career.
Unfortunately, C being so practical got all logical on me when we got it home and pointed out that it wouldn’t fit in the girls room. OK, so he was right but whatever.
Seriously though, how cute is this desk???!
I even got the hardware the perfect shade of Champagne. It is perfection. But alas it sits alone in my bedroom because it doesn’t fit (or match) anything else in the house.
One day it will have it’s place in our family. They just aren’t ready for it yet.
What do you guys think? Have you refinished any furniture lately?
