If you happened to see my last video you know that we had announced lots of big news, including how we are expecting Baby Number 3, January 2020!
Yes, we are crazy. Yes, this is the last one. and YES I am sooo excited, it’s something I have wanted for a while now and it finally happened!!
That being said, um, wow. I am apparently old AF and this has unquestionably been the most difficult pregnancy hands down. I can’t even express to you in words what this fatigue is like. Not to mention the awesome nausea and equally as fun vomiting and headaches. It’s just totally out of control.
As far as how we found out, it was an embarrassingly uneventful discovery with regard to a buildup. As a matter of fact it was much more up our typical, chaotic and off the wall lifestyle/alley anyway.
With the two girls I basically went through different fertility treatments each time (metformin to get Oakley) and then with Wave I did a few unsuccessful rounds of clomid, then when to a specialist where they were preparing me to receive the injectable – or give them to myself which would have been totally interesting… yuk. Anyway, I ended up having a procedure where they inject die (TMI upcoming for the faint of heart) into your “system” to look for scar tissue in the fallopian tubes from former pregnancies. Low and behold I got pregnant right after that procedure, which they said is pretty common because the dye can unblock minor tubal blockages, who knew!?
So, needless to say for this one I was very surprised, we had not been officially preventing, I guess you would say since Waverly who is 6, and I have extremely irregular cycles due to my PCOS – poly cystic ovarian syndrome, if you are unfamiliar with what that is, it’s basically this really awesome situation where instead of ovulating every month, your eggs turn into cysts every month causing long and painful withdraw bleeds instead of normal cycles, anovulation, and just a slew of other symptoms that are super lame. I do have a conspiracy theory regarding this pregnancy though. Here it goes; when we were in California this spring for Oakley to film the pilot for Outmatched, I started getting severe cold symptoms. Headache, sneezes, stuffy – typical signs, so another parent of one of the child actors had offered me some Oreganol as a homeopathic way to fight off the onset of this cold I thought I was getting. Skeptical, but hey – open to trying new things always – I took it for a few days and ordered some when I got home for myself. The weird part was I had a cycle upon arriving home that was very different than usual. And truthfully hindsight is so 20/20 because I had mid-cycle spotting and I told Chris, point blank, “we are going to have a baby”, and we totally did! It’s only funny looking back now obviously because it really worked.
So anyway, long story short, I had weird feelings that I could have been pregnant but ovarian cysts are also notorious for replicating pregnancy as far as symptoms are concerned so it wasn’t uncommon for me to get nausea and headaches and even vomiting before a missed cycle. And it wasn’t truthfully uncommon to go upward to 50 days without a cycle.
More TMI, the biggest red flag for me was my nipples were just out of control painful, and I didn’t think too much of it but it did cross my mind a few times like wtf.
Then I started yakking on the school bus for Oakley’s field trip to a museum, that was kind of out of the ordinary, I mean I do get car sick easily, but this was a bit different, it was almost uncontrollable. Even then I waited a few more days before I tested because I ended up getting a filling and was having daily headaches and it wasn’t until I thought I was going to have to get a root canal I decided I should test to make sure before going into the dentist in case they wanted to do x-rays.
Obviously, it was positive, and I was so happy but also so mad.
Like seriously????? I just found out I’m having my last baby, which is basically a miracle, in a public restroom (at Walmart no less) seconds before I walk into the dentist to ask for a root canal – side note, I had never had a root canal but the pain was unreal – and for those of you who are concerned I actually didn’t end up needing a root canal they just had to refile some stuff and I was better within a couple weeks, but the point is I was really bummed I wasn’t going to have this beautiful moment of finding out we were expecting. Guess it’s still a story though.
And honesty I still get a baby, so I should just be grateful.
Pre-positive Test Symptoms:
- Nipple pain
- Gas and bloat, sometimes painful, burping all the time, awesome.
- Nausea and vomiting
- Body changes – so bloated, not unusual for cysts though
- No real cravings, but serious aversions to my red wine, which was also a red flag!

I love it so much, its neutral and just a true ‘must have’ for anyone who loves tracking and journaling. I will link her shop in the description below, she has a ton of other types of journals too, you guys need to check her shop out.
- Anti-nausea stuff; Guys. I tried it all and nothing worked for me unfortunately. In my first trimester recap I will let you know all the things I tried but truthfully nothing really helped me at all.
Alright, well if you have any suggestions on morning sickness please, I am still struggling big time, please send me your remedies!!!!
