go bold with hallway stripes

the decision

There was a time in my life around 6-9 months pregnant with my second child where I decided I wanted to paint my whole house. Call it cabin fever, or nesting, or pretty much psychotic. But basically I went bat shit paint-crazy all over the place. Unfortunately, I don’t have any before pictures of this project. I can’t even recollect what kind of frame of mind I was in to do this to a hallway but I like it.

C was def pooping his pants on this paint job. He was so sweet to help me measure the lines though, so at least they are all perfectly square. I got this awesome Ryobi suction laser level from Home Depot that has been a miracle tool in actually hanging things level these days. It was like $20 and sooo worth it. It does make a loud noise when actively suctioning to the wall which scared O – but I would imagine most normal children would not be affected.

taping and prep

I taped first and made marks with pencil so I could easily paint over the marks.

I bought the sea foam and used some gray that I already had on hand. Weird that it ended up looking like the same color as the downstairs walls which are supposed to be brown…

I had these dark frames already so I just relocated them.

The guitar was a gift C wanted one year for Christmas. It just matched. C plays for the kids all the time. He doesn’t know how to play but he strums like a child and sings like a rock star. Bless his heart.

This antique couch thing came from C’s mothers house. I love it! I think it looks great and fits so nicely. C despises it though, so I won’t be surprised if it randomly goes M.I.A. one day. I specifically wanted one of those star burst mirror things. Pretty sure this one came from KOHLS. They are normally expensive but at KOHLS you can get all kinds of coupons.

I think it looks good. I saw the idea of Pinterest of course.
